1- Which graphics card is better: GT 230 or HD 4570? Especially when it comes to gaming.

2- Suppose a certain Toshiba laptop comes with an HD 4570. Is it possible to upgrade the card to an HD 4860? In other words, remove the HD 4570 and put an HD 4860 in its place?

Okay. How good is the GT 230? I've checked with Notebook Check; it appears that it can run many modern games on medium settings, but I was wondering if you could give me a bigger list of the games it can run on medium/high settings. I'm talking post-2005 games here.

I checked notebookcheck too, there's not many solid reviews for notebook cards.
You're really out of luck when gaming on a laptop, many times it's a blind draw.

Screen size is important when considering a gaming laptop. You can get one with a better card but if it has a higher res screen it may still give you worse gaming performance that a weaker card on a system with a smaller/lower res screen.

There is no GT230, it was the speculative number being bandied around about a year ago when the 218 GPU appeared along with the continuation of the 'everything just being renamed' ATi fanboy rhetoric and as it turned out the rumours where wrong as the so called GT230 was actually the GT220 and not a renamed 9600GT as it only had 48SP's unlike the GT240 which came later with 96SP's.

He's talking about the mobile version (GT 230M).
