I would hear some comments on the following build, since its my first time to build my own PC. Its mainly gonna be used for gaming, and I would like to run the upcomming BF:BC 2 on FULL HIGH settings.

INTEL i7 860, 4x2.8ghz
1GB DDR5 HD5870
GIGABYTE P55, (INTEL P55)
GB DDR3 1333MHZ RAM, KINGSTON
500GB WD HDD,7200RPM
24x SATA DVD
750W Corsair
Coolermaster HAF 922

My budget is around 1300-1500$
My monitor is 22" 1680x1050.

Im not sure about the CPU and the motherboard. So please comment on the build.

Most people will tell you that unless you really need 8 threads (4 cores with hyperthreading), then the i5 750 is actually a more logical choice - cheaper and very good performance.

The 750w PSU is a good one, but is probably overkill unless you plan on having more than one 5870 in the future.

I'd check out the F3 hard drives by Samsung, or the black drives by Western Digital if you are looking for a solid performer at a decent cost.

I'd check out the boards that have USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gbs also - they are a slight premium, but are a nice feature.

There are some solid sticks of RAM on sale now at newegg: (promo code:EMCYNNS22)

Other than that, it looks pretty good. Have fun.
