I was going to buy components for a new computer recently, but then i came across an article about the new nvidia "Fermi" series, coming out at the 26th of march. I am going to wait untill it is out, and i will include one of those in the build.
Could it be improved? Is it futureproff?
I will be overclocking it and use it for hardcore gaming. :D

Specs:
CPU Intel i7 920 2.66ghz
GPU Geforce gtx 470, 480 or 495?
Motherboard Asus P6X58D Premium
RAM Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1600 6GB CL7
HDD Samsung Spinpoint F3 1 Tb
Case Antec Twelve Hundred
PSU Corsair HX 850W
CPU Cooler Cooler Master V8
Optic drive Samsung SH-D163B
SSD HD Patriot TORQX 128gb SATA
Monitor Samsung 21.5 2233RZ 120hz

I am aware that it is quite big, but i want to make sure that i can fit anything inside of it. :sol:

Make sure the Patriot TORQX is one of the SSDs that supports TRIM.

V8 is overpriced because of its looks. A xigmatek Dark Knight or Balder would do as well for a few dollars less. Not that its an issue with your budget.

I wouldnt presume to buy an Nvidia 470 or 480 yet. In a few weeks we will get independet reviews and price points so that will be the time to make a decision.

1. Wait till 930 comes out...supposedly before Monday.

2. Why don't ya see how it performs (and what it costs) before committing to the GFX cards.....this is a guess, but if I was nVidia, I'd be taking a shot at the 5870 and w/ that going for $400-$500, I expect the nVidia card that is intended to compete with it will be $50 more.....the $5970's ($650-$700) competitor, if and when it comes out could easily be $700 - $800.

3. The HX850 is a great, great PSU.....and while it can compete with the CP-850 electrically, it's not a match for it acoustically. The CP-850 is made specifically for the Antec 1200. The HX850 + Antec 1200 will cost you $360. The CP-850 + Antec 1200 will cost you $244. Both HX850 and the CP-850 gets a 10.0 performance rating at jonnyguru.com .... the CP-850 also garners and Editor's Choice pick at www.silentpcreview.com

Given the money you are spending on other components, consider the Mushkin 998693 CAS 6 Memory set w/ Ascent Liquid Cooling Technology. Was $204 a set back in October and prices have been climbing

And for the TIM, same deal with the top 3 or 4 here:

SSD - By the time the fermi's hit, the Vertex2's which just took the performnace crown from Intel, should be on sale.

I live in Denmark, meaning that when hardware comes out in the US, it takes about a month for it to reach Denmark. and some things are just completely unavailable.

1. Will the i7 930 be overclockable? i am going to oc the 920 to 3.6-3.8ghz

2. I will be waiting and reading a LOT of reviews of the new gtx 4xx series, but i am getting an nvidia anyways. I want to play in 3d.

3. The Antec CP-850 is PERFECT. Thats one good advice right there! :sol:

4. I need the Samsung 2233rz 120hz monitor for 3d. Plus it is one of the best gaming LCDs in the world. I dont like the Acer monitor.

5. It is COMPLETELY impossible to buy Mushkin in Denmark. I will be getting the Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1600 6GB CL7 instead.

6. YAY, the OCZ Freeze extreme cooling paste is available in Denmark!

7. I have chosen to use the Coolermaster 212 Plus instead of the V8. Its cheaper and better. Thank you for the advice. :D

8. The Vertex2 is smaller in size, but twice the price... not an option. And the TORQX has TRIM so its fine.

8. No its not, but still it is pretty obvious that it will be EXTREMELY expensive. And it will be 100gb instead of 128gb.
