last december i built an i7 when it came out. is there anything out that is worth upgrading? possibly ram for better timings. vcard worth lookin into dx11 or sound card worth it?

antec 1200
i7 920 @ 4.0 (push pull true cooler)
p6t deluxe
sapphire 4870x2
g.skill 1600 6 gig kit.
corsair 750watt PSU
24" Acer p243w
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

Uses for hard gaming and Multimedia bluray movie to LCD TV to surround sound.

my current ram timings are pretty bad. it was pretty much the only ram out at the time that was suited for the i7. is it worth upgrading? wut kind of performance increase will i see. same with my vcard. right now i can run pretty much anything out no prob highest settings but as u all know always want more :) lol. is dx11 worth it? how much performace increase will i say for lets just say the 5870. i havnt splurged on myself since my build so im lookin to buy something new lol. advise please and thanks for your time :)

I would say possibly your hard drive (not listed) or add a SSD. I would recommend either the Samsung Spinpoint F3 500GB or Seagate 7200.12 500GB hard drives. Both of these drives have 500GB Single Platters, which makes them pretty much as fast as the WD VRaptors for 1/4 the price. SSD's... well, I'm sure you know they are the fastest things out!

I would recommend the G.SKILL PI Series 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 1600 Cas7 or Mushkin Enhanced Redline 6GB (3 x 2GB) DDR3 1600

I think you are good with the GPU at this time and would wait for the release of the new Nvidia cards to drive prices down on the ATI cards.

Let's look at averything for a moment as if you were building new. If that were the case, I would go:

P6t Deluxe V2 or P6X58D

Corsair CAS 7 on newegg for $189

Antec 1200 Combo w/ CP-850 PSU Combo is $244 versus $280 for the Antec 1200 + Corsair TX750

Antec CP-850 (10.0 Performance Rating)

Corsair TX750 (8.5 Performance Rating)
http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story4&reid=73

CP-850 costing you $84 versus $110 (after $10 MIR) for the Corsair TX

You could move up to the Corsair HX850 (Also a 10.0 from jonny) but that's $180

However.....compared with what you have, these "upgrades" would offer only marginal improvements. So if I was gonna do anything, I'd wait until about 2 months fermi arrives and see how the market settles out, then invest in some GFX cards.....other than that, the Vertex 2 hits next month, see what that does to SSD prices and consider one of those.

You have linked the two hard drives (minus the open box version of the Samsung... which is kind of fun to me, since an OEM doesn't come with a box :) ). They are both about 1/4 of the WD VRaptor 300GB or around 1/3 the price of the WD VRaptor 150GB. With you having the WD 1TB Black, I won't say it is worth the upgrade to either of those drives.
