Bump that up to a quad core 2.8GHz <+ and you will be good to roll.

Also recommend switching HDD for a Samsung Spinpoint F3 or Seagate 7200.12 and GPU for a 5770, other than that looks good :)

Hi newcomer and wlecome to the Tom's hardware forum.

My advices:

1- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6822148395 a better HDD with similar performance that the Spinpoint F3 500GB
2- Good combo case PSU
3- The RAM has CL9 that isn't good for DDR3. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6820231303 is a little more expensive, but much better.

So I'm goin with that ram and hard drive. I'd lke to stick with the 435 everything I've read says that its an easily OCed chip and its 35 clams less.

This article http://www.tomshardware.com/review [...] ,2446.html shows the 4870 beating the 5770 in pretty much everything and its cheaper.

saint-in #2 did u mean i picked a good combo or get a different one.

Thanx so far guys

And runs hotter, uses more power, and does not have DX11. But its your call.

DX11 isn't for all games today, in fact, only a few games use DX11, so, IMO is a good choise get a 4870 over the 5770 for price/performance.

nother question, that particular ram isnt listed on the campatible sheet for the mobo is that gonna matter. I only ask because of the issues I've been reading about guys switchen from IDE to AHCI(?). I'm not planning on switching from IDE,but was just checkin.

Reply to cjsdaddy

That the RAM isn't listened in the QLV of the mobo doesn't mean that don't work with the mobo. So, you can be sure that the RAM work fine with the mobo, just wasn't tested by the mobo's manufacturer.

When you change from IDE to AHCI you are changing the operation mode of the HDD, that doesn't have anything to do with the RAM.

ok thanx, just wasnt sure. thinkin I might get everything but the graphix card right now. Do you think the fermi thing comin out will drive prices low enuf to hold out a little while? just a thought. And thanx for the help so far saint, I've been doin alot of reading the past couple of weeks. But its still more comforting to actually hear it from someone, plus you can't ask books and articles all the "dumb" questions.

Reply to cjsdaddy

Well, when fermi comes out the GTX200 series will low the prices, and maybe the HD 57xx series and 58xx series. But i'm not sure, all this depends of the performance of fermi.
