OK Ive got a PC withe following specs:

Processor- Intel Dual Core 2.8 Ghz (P4)
Motherboard - Intel D865GSA
RAM- 1GB DDR1

Pretty bad spec,I know but heres my prob -

Whenever I switch on my AC there is a voltage fluctuation once it's compressor starts.I have got a UPS of Numeric 600VA. I dunno what happens but computer restarts so i think my SMPS might be the problem as it had once been been replaced so can u tell me the specifications of a good SMPS which might solve this problem.

I am from India so the utility voltage specs are :
230V 50 Hz

voltage fluctuation once your AC starts??? I think that's what you should be addressing, not the computer restart! But if you have a UPS that should take care of any fluctuations, just make sure the battery is working and check the settings on the UPS so that it maintains the PC for a minute rather than shutting it down once it detects a problem with the voltage or a surge.

Make sure that you pc is plugged into the "back-up power" side & not just the surge side of your ups. If you can, you should also move your pc off the same line (circuit) as your AC.
