Wireless range

Hello,

I am updating computers. The room in which I intend to work is about 60 - 70 feet way from my lynksis router. My old computer, a t42, has an Intel pro/1000 adapter which will not pick up the wireless signal form that room, but my daughter's new Mac has no problem. Can I safely assuming that all adapters on new laptops will have no problem? I can I be assured?

can't be assured that ,but the newer ones are more compatible and tend to have a better range!
