Are you Intel-inclined or AMD-inclined for the processor ? You have to decide on this first as Asus produces desktop systems for both. ? Then comes your budget for this dektop system. If you have an open-ended budget, then you can buy/build a very nice rig for you.

Thanks Suat

Please mention price with merits and demerits of both, that's why i could finalize one of them.

You can take my rig as an example:

Motherboard: Asus P7P55D Intel-based LGA-1156 socket ( be warned: no dolby digital from S/PDIF )

CPU: Intel i7-860 quad-core with Hyper-Threading ( may be no longer available, but you can get i7-870 )

HSF: I used stock HSF. I am no gamer.

RAM: Kingston ValueRAM DDR3-1333 total: 8 GB (4x2 GB)

VGA: Sapphire Radeon HD5770 ( You should get HD 5870 or 5970 )

DVD-RW: LG Blueray ReWriter + Sony DRU-870S DVD ReWriter

Main drive: OCZ Colossus SSD ( solid-state drive ) 120 GB

Backup drive: Seagate HDD ( conventional hard disk drive ) 320 GB

PSU: Antec Neopower Blue 650 W

Case: Gigabyte iSOLO 210 Black

Monitor: LG E2250V LED

You can also build LGA-1366 socket Intel 9xx CPU system that will cost more.
