problems with screen resolution on IBM Thinkpad 570

Hi

I recently acquired an IBM 570 thinkpad that had windows 98 on it. I
found that the screen resolution of 800x600 was still making
everything too big for the computers screen meaning that even small
windows were huge.

I have since upgraded to XP Professional and the display properties
still are set on 800x600 and i cannot make the screen / windows /
icons any smaller.

the driver is a NeoMagic MagicGraph 256AV Driver that is installed, if
i try to updgrade driver it says that the one i already have is the
best one

can anyone help?
