Hi all. I am choosing between the Nvidia 260 and the ATI 5770. The ATI has Dx11, but the 260 has only directX 10.1. But the Nvidia has Physx and the ATI doesn't. Does ATI have anything like physx? I was wondering which is more important? Physx or DX11. Is the DX11 physx any good? Which should I get and why? What does DX11 even do? What is ATI stream technology?

Thanks! :bounce:

I would say DX11 over Physx. Physx has been around for awhile and only a handfull of games (Batman AA) accually look good with it, the rest are kind of like "thats it?" in my opinion. DX11 right now only has Dirt 2 and maybe some others that just came out, with many more titles coming out in the next few years (cant name any off the top of my head).

The 5770 performs close to a 260 but it costs like ~$50 less. A good alternative may be to get the 5770 and an older Nvidia PhysX capable card and run older drivers to get PhysX on the few titles that use it. This will only work if you have Windows 7 and you have 2 PCIE slots.

Edit: ATI Stream Technology would be equivalent to Nvidia's CUDA I believe.
