Connecting DVD Drive to SATA 3gbs or SATA 6gbs ports?

Hi there,

I intend to build my own computer. Two of the motherboards i have looked at Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D3 and Asus P8Z68-V LX Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) have SATA 3Gbs ports and SATA 6gbs ports. The DVD writer is SATA 1.5gbs.

Does it matter which of the SATA ports it connects to? Are there any implications?

No performance change.Doesn't matter.

The sata ports a backwards compatable so the dvd drive will work in any of the ports but I wouldn'r use up a sata 3 port and you should save those for the sata 3 hard drives.
