So I need to build myself a real kicker. I'm a gamer, but I'm not a PC gamer, I do all mine on my PS3, however, I need a machine that can really kick some butt when it comes to power and speed. I am an animator and I need something that can render my projects like a breeze and save me time. I found this sucker here: http://www.gateway.com/systems/product/529668418.php and it looks phenomenal for the price. I've built myself computers in the past, and when I searched Newegg for parts to match it, I ended up have a cart that was more expensive than this machine. Lenovo is nearly double that for a Thinkstation, and I don't know what to do. People keep telling me that it is possible to build and equivalent system to that for under 1300. Can it be done? Can someone help?

blackjellognomes said:Yes, it can done. Do you mind showing up the list of parts you had? Just look for a few combos and don't get an excessive 16GB of RAM (even when you're rendering your projects, you won't use more than 8GB max).
I ditched the list of parts that I had. I remember the highest stuff I could find at the time was a Phenom processor and it came included in a number of deals. I had at about 1 grand for a system about 1/3rd as good as this machine. If you could find a certain setup that would match that Gateway's specs for less, I would be strongly interested in it.
