I'm upgrading my rig, and need advice, i got a suggestion. Please feel free to post what you think of the new parts or if you think other components would suite me better.
The main use is gaming, but i want a quad core cpu for future games supporting multi threads, possibly film editing, etc. Also, the mobo's supporting sata 6Gb/s and usb 3.
Mobo: ASUS P6X58D Premium, X58, Socket-1366
CPU: Intel Core™ i7 Quad Processor i7-920
Ram: Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1600MHz 6GB CL7
Cooling: Corsair H50 Hydro Series CPU Kylare
Case: Fractal Design Define R2 Black Pearl
Parts I allready have:
Graphics: 2 x XFX Geforce 260GTX 896mb SLI.
PSU: Cougar power 700w (would i need more power?)
Storage: 2 x WD blue 500gb @ raid0 + 2 x seagate baracuda 1,5Tb @ raid0
+ lots of different fans, fractal design silent series
the h50 is as good as a decent air cooler its just more expensive the best closed loop water cooler is the new coolit Vantage A.L.C. but its expensive the noctua 14 is a great cooler also look into the prolimatech megshadow and thermalright venomous X or the older Thermolab BARAM
the i7 930 will be in the same price bracket as the i7 920 since its the 920's replacement but it has an advange over the 920 by being based on the 32nm process wich is more efficient and runs cooler
