Hello,
Not sure if this is the correct section but last week a bought/made a new system, the mobo was a Gigabyte GA-880GA-UD3H and 4GB of Ram (A-RAM).

A-RAM 4GB KIT ( 2 x 2GB) DDR3 PC-10600 (1333MHz), ECO, 240-pin RAM non-ECC CL9, high performance IC,

Up untill today this setup was working fine with a few exceptions, however while the system was in sleep mode, i had to cut power to the psu.

Upon rebooting i faced 3 long beeps which according to my manual it is a video card or short circuit error, i tracked the problem down to 1 of the 2 RAM sticks.

The 3 beeps had happened once or twice since i made the system, which resolved itself untill this time. Is the cause of my problem a faulty manufactured RAM stick or a broken RAM stick caused by loss of power or my setup?

further info
The RAM were placed in the DDR3 1-2 slots, it was the second slot/card that seems to have died. That first RAM works by itself and the second RAM doesnt. if combined, i get the 3 beeps.

CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T
With windows 7 64bit on a 64GB SSD.

Welcome to Tom's Forums! :)

To test if indeed the RAM is defective create a Memtest86 bootable CD/DVD {ISO/zip} - http://www.memtest.org/ at minimum allow the test to perform (2) passes ~ 1-2 hours.

Also, please post the exact part-number and/or link to your RAM {I think you meant A-DATA}. If you are uncertain then D/L and run CPUz - http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html

I assume that the RAM is installed in slots DDR3_1 & DDR3_3 ; you can also install them in slots DDR3_2 & DDR3_4

{CPU} | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 |

As I mentioned, create the Memtest CD/DVD & test the RAM. The reason that I asked about your RAM is to determine if the RAM is fully compatible with your MOBO which I CANNOT determine. In general, it is a good idea to purchase RAM that is either Certified or Tested.

Certified - http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3520#memory%20support%20list

Tested {example Corsair} - http://www.corsair.com/configurator/product_results.aspx?id=1529928

"IF" the RAM PASSES the Memtest then you'll need to examine other components. {e.g. GPU}.
