Hello,

This is my 1st build. Please advise if the following components make sense. System will be used for light gaming, general purpose, and light adobe sc4 use. Not interested in OC or dual video cards and would like to stay under $700 budget. Don't need monitor(have new dell 22" widescreen); keyboard, mouse, speakers. After reading many articles here and elsewhere, here is what I chose from Newegg's site:

This all comes in around $640 not including shipping.

One question: What is the difference between bare drive and retail drive?

Thanks for the help!

PS sorry forgot to add the links. Will be building in the next 2 or 3 weeks.

Answer: A bare drive / OEM comes with just the drive itself, no cords, disk or anything. A retail drive comes with everything the drive needs.

I would look at either the Samsung Spinpoint F3 or Seagate 7200.12 500GB hard drives at time of purchase. Both are much better hard drives. I would go with the Antec 300 Illusion instead of just the Antec 300. Make sure when you buy you check for Newegg combos.

Why do u need a 8x+8x CFable mobo and cut down to a lowly HD 5670? Perhaps a 770/785g and at least a HD 5750? Better performance for your $$ IMO
