Netgear WGR614v6 and McAfee LAN gaming problems

I am posting to ask for help with a LAN gaming problem I have had for some time.

I own a Netgear WGR614v6 router. I have two computers on my network, a desktop that has a wired connection and a laptop which connects wirelessly. Both computers have McAfee Security Center installed on them. I can successfully share files and printers across the network. Both computers successfully connect to the Internet. I have disabled Windows Firewall and I do not use any antivirus/firewall/etc. software except McAfee.

I cannot get any LAN gaming to work. Neither computer can "see" games created on the other. This is very frustrating since I can successfully use other connectivity features of this router.

Has anyone run into a similar problem? Please help!

Before establishing new network connections always disable all firewalls -- when re-enabled, they accept the new connections as being safe.
