i have looked at:

Zalman CNPS 9700 LED Socket 754, 940, 775, 939 & AM2 CPU cooler

&

Corsair CWCH50-1 Cooling Hydro Series H50 High-performance CPU Cooler supports LGA1156 LGA775

Both are good but the 9700 is getting a bit dated. I've heard good thing re: the H50. It sounds like a quieter option with about the same performance.

Make sure to get the AM2/3 mount if you go that route.

You could try the Cooler Master Hyper 212+ with a second fan in push/pull. Pretty good temps for the cost.

I would take the 212+ over the V8, but then again the V8 doesn't get much love over here.
