I am going to purchase an external hard disk in a couple of days, which will be 500 GB and USB 3.0 if possible.I would like to know which are the best these days..I have zeroed down on Seagate Goflex(of course), WD and Iomega ego.I have heard both bad and good reports about both Seagate and WD..
My brother has 2 seagate's and they are working fine from 3 years but all over the WWW I see people slamming it.
And same thing applies to WD.
But I have read fairly positive reviews about Iomega ego but I suspect if many people actually buy them.
I am having a great deal of confusion
Any hard disk which will last a fair 3 or 4 years..
I won't be having any other backup
And I am not a rough user too..
Daily it wont run for more than 2 hours..
And if there are any other better brands than these 3 than I am open to it.
First I need a reliable drive then comes speed..
Bcoz I know all of them are speedy
And I need it for PC
All hard drives on the market are made from a few companies (WD, Seagate, Toshiba etc.) The technology on the disks is more or less the same. Pretty much any drive you buy will be fine and work for several years without any problems.
Just pick one according to your budget and you will be fine!
