Currently have a nVida geForce 6100 nForce405 and looking to upgrade for Napoleon Total War!

Wikipedia says it's recommended is- 256 MB DirectX 9.0c shader model 3 compatible GPU DirectX®: DirectX 9.0c Hard

What would you guys reccomend as a inexpensive upgrade?

Thanks,

Yeh I was just looking and I think maybe the Radeon HD 4670 is a suitable card? That kind of price, if not cheaper. I was thinking they kind of specification though... or at least GeForce 8 series and above.

Do you know how the GeForce 6100 connects to the PC? As in, i'm assuming its PCI-E so I'd obviously want a card that can maybe just fit into it's slot?

Thanks for the fast response!

If your PSU supports,a HD 4670 would be a very good upgrade

Is the HD 4670 better than the 5450?
Also, the 4650 is available in 1GB format rather than 512MB. Do you think the lesser card with greater memory would be a better option?

Okay just found out the PSU is only 250W. What's it going to be able to cope with?

What your opinion on what a 250W PSU could cope with?

not alot.

with that PSU you are going to struggle to find a GPU that could offer playable framerates in total war.

Do you think i should Upgrade to http://www.ebuyer.com/product/120674 ?
I know you should often get better brands such as Corsair but this one seems very popular and the customer ratings are good.
Are PSU's easy to fit?

its really not worth buying a low end PSU. it will almost certainly cost more in the long run, and thats if you are lucky. when something supplying 400w of power to a PC goes bad, it goes REALLY bad.

a corsair psu like maz linked, and a card like the 4650 would be a great performance jump for you. not mind blowing, but better than a 6100 by a large margin.
