Greeting,

I looking to acquire an older Dell 720 that I would use for my kids (10 yrs). I cannot find any documentation/manuals on the mainboard to know that my upgrade options are...if any.

Here is the information I could get from CPU-Z (version: 1.52.2)
Mainboard Model
Dell 0YU822 (0x0000017A - 0x005DAA40)

Chipset
Northbridge NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI SPP rev. A2
Southbridge NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI MCP rev. A2
Graphic Interface PCI-Express
PCI-E Link Width x16
PCI-E Max Link Width x16
Memory Type DDR2
Memory Size 4096 MBytes
Channels Dual
Memory Frequency 400.0 MHz (5:6)
CAS# latency (CL) 6.0
RAS# to CAS# delay (tRCD) 6
RAS# Precharge (tRP) 6
Cycle Time (tRAS) 18
Bank Cycle Time (tRC) 24
Command Rate (CR) 2T

Can anyone point me to doc that tells what procs this can handle? It currently has an dual core E6750 in it with 4GB of DDR2 PC2-6400 (400 MHz).

Thanks for any help.

If this helps, the 680i is notorious for instability and failure 'problems'. The 7xx series, 750i, 790, were much better. 65nm C2D/C2Q depending on BIOS support (like the e6750). If quads, the Q6600, 6700. The board was released before 45nm CPUs were and likely are not supported at all. So, finding the BIOS versions and CPU support list would list specific CPU/BIOS support. The e6750 is very good for that chipset.
