PSU for my new system

Hallo,

I am building the following system:

- AMD Athlon II X4 640 Quad-Core 64Bits 2MB
- 1 x Corsair Value Select 2x2048MB DDR3 1333Mhz CAS9
- Sapphire Ati HD5570 1GB DDR3 DP PCI-E
- Asrock 770 Extreme3 AMD770 SKAM3

I am not sure how much Power it will consume so i dont know what PSU (W) i should get to. I dont intend to upgrade any component for the next 3/4 years. I have a budget of 100$ for the psu so i would like to find the best price/quality.

Are you looking to salvage the PSU later on when you do plan to upgrade? and will you be doing crossfire/SLI?

the latter would be more than enough for your system and allow your to put more $$ into a better CPU or videocard

You really don't need a powerful unit to run that gear.

The first link would be under the assumption you'd be salvaging the power supply for a future build/upgrade where you'd need more watts. But if that's not the plan, then yes, the 430w antec would be perfect

You could prolly get away w/ a 500 watter ..... but as an excellent 650 watter is gonna cost roughly the same amount, I can't see any reason to go w/ a smaller unit.

in 2/3 years i will buy the current high end processor and 3d card. so maybe i should get a better psu that i can keep when the upgrade time arrives ?

If you're buying a better single videocard later on, then yes, buy a power supply that puts out ~600watts.
