Hi all,
My brother-in-law has got a laptop with vista 32bit installed on it, the problem is some of the games he wants to play the cpu is just short of speed.

He was looking through some games on systemrequirementslab.com to see if his laptop can play the games and only failed on the cpu speed by a slight margin, if he downgraded to xp from vista would this make any difference.
the game he was looking at playing is dawn of war 2.

Try the game on the laptop. If he does not think the performance is satisfactory, then no amount of upgrades to the laptop will make it satisfactory.

Downgrading to vista will not make much if any of difference. To minimize the resources close as many background processes and services as you can.
