I bought two brand new western digital WD30EZRX 3 Tb Sata III hard drives. When I installed the new hard drives all was flawless. I selected .GPT format and instantly I was able to see and use 2.7 Tb per hard drive. However, when I checked the new hard drives with some programs Active Hard Disk Monitor showed 85% and 84% of health for the hard drives. What with that? I have others Caviar Black since two years and they show 100% of health, only one of 4 Caviar Blacks I discovered that shows 89% of health.

I dont have experience or knowledge about hard drives. Im learning to check and identify failures and starting to read S.M.A.R.T. I uploaded screenshots (you need to click the images to zoom them). Do you think that I need to apply RMA?

I must mention that Im using Sata II cables for both WD30EZRX (Sata III) because Sata III cables are not available in my country.

Thanks for the information.

You should not take too much notice of the health percentages. Only the actual SMART data are important. I have observed that the author of Active Hard Disk Monitor often incorrectly interprets SMART values. Try Hard Disk Sentinel instead.

In fact your first result would suggest that the Spinup Time is 2.181 seconds. Nothing wrong with that ...
