I have this system

Motherboard: P5KC
Memory: 2 Modules 1 GB ddr2 Geil Ultra 800 Mhz
1 GB ddr2 Geil Ultra 800 Mhz

1 Module 2 GB ddr2 KingMax 800Mhz

CPU:Intel Core 2 Duo E6550

The latest version of bios.

I want to upgrade ddr3 4 GB 1333 Mhz

I have 2 Option

1.Corsair http://www.emag.ro/memorii/kit-mem [...] X4G1333C9A

2.Mushkin http://www.emag.ro/memorii/memorie [...] l--p996585

I want your opinions.Is good ddr3 for P5KC Stoket 775.Is a advantage or disadvantage?

In my opinion, it isn't worth the cost difference to go to DDR3 when running DDR2. There is little difference in performance to really justify it.

The system is stable with DDR3?
Which DDR3 memory would you recommend?

1) Your system would be stable to 4GB of DDR3, if you want to make that jump.

2) I would go with this set... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6820231275

I want to buy Romanian shop:

1. http://www.pcgarage.ro/memorii/?top
2 .http://www.emag.ro/memorii

I found this:Mushkin @ 295,23 RON

* Tip: DDR3
* Capacitate: 4096 MB
* Frecventa: 1333 MHz
* Latenta CAS: 9 CL

The listed memory you posted works as well - but all of them (including the one i listed) have high latency (CL9). Of course that can be decreased.

I would go with the Corsair unit... It look like the better RAM, of course I can't necessarily read Romanian though :lol: (compared on Newegg :) )

I read the manual, and I would recommend the TW3X4G1333C9A ; 1:1 FSB.

which is better for my moatherboard ASUS P5KC?

Typically you want a lower CL, but either one is fine.

I can only recommend Certified {QVL} or Tested {Corsair} so the TW3X4G1333C9A. The RAM you selected is NOT listed as Tested or as Certified.

Certified {QVL} - http://usa.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=fFZ8oUIGmLpwNMjj

Another option is this Muhkin

http://www.mushkin.com/Memory/Silv [...] ed_support

Is compatible with my mothe board P5KC?
It's better than corsair?

What do you choose Muhkin or Corsair?

Reply to adymaster

Both are good brands adymaster. And from the specs the mushkin works. But if you really wanna save yourself trouble, choose certified or tested ram like jaquith has been saying. Best way to go.

I can tell you that the p5kc has a very weak memory controller, and will most likely not run ddr3 1333 unless loose timing are used. 8 latency or worse, even then no guarantees. The best I've been able to get out of mine is 1245mhz cr1 at 6-6-6-18 timings. And that nets the lowest stable latency, tested in Everest I can get with that board.

The p5kc hates high frequency ram, do a quick google and you'll find the problems people are having with it.

yes,my buddy experienced some problems related to kingmax ddr2 800 memory on that mobo. couldn't start it every time,and had to pull the plug from psu. after reconnecting,sometime it start at first,sometime it won't.

we realized that problem is somehow related to memory,and solved the problem with other moduls.
