I just purchased my first quad core processor. My PC is exclusively used for audio recording. I want to know how I can tell while the program is opened if the cores are active and other pertinent cpu info. Is this possible?

AMD Phenom II X4 945.

Thanks

If you run Vista or better search for "cpu gadget".

You need a more complex approach..!! It even lists the active memory usage.. There is also a resource monitor to view other parameters in detail.. Meanwhile you can download an app named CPU-Z which will give all the technical info about your CPU..

Thanks much. I'm just kicking myself because I should've known that. I'll check out CPU-Z too.
Thanks again
