I'm really confused as to why my motherboard can't recognize my harddrive. I can hook it up to my laptop just fine, but when I put it back in my computer (it is a new build, I'm happy with myself.) it doesn't recognize it at all, nor does it recognize it in the installation of Windows 7.

Motherboard: Asus M5A97 EVO
Hard Drive: WD Green Caviar 500Gb

I noticed in my bios and in my manual that my motherboard is optimized for ACHI, so it's immediatly set as that. Even when I set it to IDE or RAID I get no response. My harddrive turns on fine, it works fine.

I did reformat it earlier, I'm nto sure if I touched the System Reserved files though, so maybe I'm just missing boot up files..?

Please help. Also let me know if I forgot anymore info, I apologize for any inconveniences I cause.

Also the Hard Drive is set up for Sata.

Thank you.

Thanks! I guess my problem now is, getting the drive controller. How does one do this?

EDIT: Nevermind, I do have a CD, well... Is there a way to have the stuff on the CD load onto a USB that I can use to install the stuff required
