Hello! I have been doing a lot of research on these forums lately and they all explain a lot, BUT!!!! I still have No clue what the hell to build.... i dont know what CPU to go with duo core 2/quad/i3/i5/i7... what mobo to go with. etc etc..nvidia or ati.... so i would like to ask you guys / girls, if you can help me. i have a budget of 1300-1800$$. i am looking for a nice gaming rig that uses a sli/crossfire mobo so i can slide another card in there for the future if needed.

thanks in advance~!@#!@$#%$&^%*^&

Might want to post according to the guidelines from the link in my signature. We need to know if you have a monitor, OS or other parts. We also need to know some other info. It would also help to narrow the budget a bit. A $1,300 build is completely different from a $1,800 build...

Assuming you don't need anything extra (monitor, OS, speaker, etc.):

$1,300

CPU: i5-750 $195
Mobo: Asus P7P55D-E Pro $190
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws 2x2 GB 1600 mhz CAS Latency 7 $115
GPU: HD 5870 $398
PSU: Corsair 850W $140 after rebate
HDD: Seagate 7200.12 1 TB $95
Case: HAF 922 $100 after rebate
Optical: Cheap SATA DVD burner $25
HSF (only if overclocking): Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus $35

Total: $1,293.

To increase the above build, swap in an HD 5970 ($700). Unfortunately, $1,800 doesn't get you what it did last week. Last week, an $1,800 build included an i7-920 AND the 5970...
