Motherboard Problem Help !

Hi

I just built my new pc yesterday, but my Gefore GT 9600 didn't work on the ASUS P6X58D-E on PCI x16-1 or PCI x16-2 which are the blue ones, but it did work on the white one which is PCI x16-3.

And i just want to know why ? is my motherboard broken or what?

Thanks for any answer :)

  1. Read your board manual if it has more than one pci-e slot. It should give you the recommended options.
  2. It's supposed to work on PCIe x16_1 & _2. What does it do when you connect it in 1 or 2?

    Slot _3 only runs @ x8 max.
  3. Hmm, that is odd. I only have (3) possibilities that come to mind:
    1. BIOS - did you make any changes to the PCIe {settings}?
    2. Voltage issue {including partial 'short' / installation}
    3. Conflict with 'other' PCI installed devices

    Try: {Put the GPU back into the first slot}
    1. BIOS - Load Defaults
    2. Failure remove ALL mounting Screws and dangle MOBO then restart
    3. {Verify GPU is connected to the PSU}

    Default Settings:
    IOH PCIE Voltage [Auto]
    ICH PCIE Voltage [Auto]
    PCIE Spread Spectrum [Auto]
    PCI Express Selector [Auto]

    I have several of these MOBO and I have no problems, nor have I seen this issue before today.

    It goes without signals like it's not conected

    I'll try and se if it's works thanx :)
    but there is a problem if I remove the card and put it i the PCI x16-1 it will go with no signal and then I can't see any BIOS or anything runs =(black picture)

    No sounds, beeps, fans turning on or anything of that sort?

    everything goes on, even the card but it gives no signal.
  8. Have you tried cleaning it with some Isopropyl alcohol? I'd try that - though it seems unlikely that's an issue - but worth a try.
  9. The PCI voltage seems to b the issue or a damaged PCIe slot. I would recommend that you start a ticket with ASUS.

  10. ^ yeah. it would probably be the best idea =P you kinda need those PCIe to work lol
