Hi

I just built my new pc yesterday, but my Gefore GT 9600 didn't work on the ASUS P6X58D-E on PCI x16-1 or PCI x16-2 which are the blue ones, but it did work on the white one which is PCI x16-3.

And i just want to know why ? is my motherboard broken or what?

Thanks for any answer :)

Read your board manual if it has more than one pci-e slot. It should give you the recommended options.

It's supposed to work on PCIe x16_1 & _2. What does it do when you connect it in 1 or 2?

Slot _3 only runs @ x8 max.

Hmm, that is odd. I only have (3) possibilities that come to mind:
1. BIOS - did you make any changes to the PCIe {settings}?
2. Voltage issue {including partial 'short' / installation}
3. Conflict with 'other' PCI installed devices

Try: {Put the GPU back into the first slot}
1. BIOS - Load Defaults
2. Failure remove ALL mounting Screws and dangle MOBO then restart
3. {Verify GPU is connected to the PSU}

Default Settings:
IOH PCIE Voltage [Auto]
ICH PCIE Voltage [Auto]
PCIE Spread Spectrum [Auto]
PCI Express Selector [Auto]

I have several of these MOBO and I have no problems, nor have I seen this issue before today.

Have you tried cleaning it with some Isopropyl alcohol? I'd try that - though it seems unlikely that's an issue - but worth a try.
