Msvcrt.dll problems..

So today I just installed a new game and I need to update the msvcrt.dll. I know its located in c:/windows/system32 but I can't seem to get rid of it. For some odd reason, the bloody thing just pops back even after I move it somewhere, cut and pasted or deleted it. I even tried dragging in the new msvcrt.dll file in and it gives me some error saying it cannot be replaced.

I even tried moving it out of the folder and putting in the new dll file in before it comes back but it was always displays the old version number when I view properties.

That is a protected Windows system file, and you cannot simply replace it and expect Windows to still operate properly.

If a game needs a particular version of that file, then it should be installed in the same folder as the game's .exe file.
