How do i enable direct3d and directdraw

Hello, i am on a windows vista(compaq) and cant run any games. when i do i get an error saying something about my video cards. i notice plenty of people have this problem. is there any way to fix this, and if i need new video cards, which ones?

full system specs please, im not sure you cant disable direct3d or directdraw in vista in the first place. What specific error messages are you getting and on what games?

update your drivers, and make sure you have the latest DirectX release.

that is, assuming you actually have a DX capable card.
