Recommended wattage for overclocking

Hello, I have a build with a i5 3570k and a Sapphire HD Radeon 7850 and wish to OC (probably both the gpu and cpu). I intend only to have one GPU as I'm only not that hardcore of a gamer. I'd just like to get an idea of the amount of wattage on my PSU I would need for OCing. My friend said that 500W is enough for any build with only one GPU. Is this the case or am I missing something?

  1. Hi.

500W real PSU can works, but I suggest you a 650W or more for future proof. Maybe in future you want add another 7850 for Crossfire and a 500W can't handle that load.
