Upgrading

How much of a performance boost would I get If I upgraded from a Phenom 9600 2.3GHz to a Phenom II 955 3.0Ghz?
I have an 8800 GTS 512MB and 4Gb of ram.

Not enough details. Depends on what you play, your monitor resolution etc.
In general, I would have to say not much.

Heavey graphics gamein , yeah not much, you're held back by the 8800gts.
Number crunching, transcoding, ie cpu intensive tasks - will see a nice boost!

Its a nice upgrade.. Apart from higher clock speeds, you get a more optimized architecture.. The benefits will be large enough.. Go for it..
