It is much harder to overclock laptops for 3 simple reasons. 1) bios support and 2) inadequate cooling and 3) the performance increase detectable only thru artificial benchmarks.
If you want to really feel the difference buy SSD. Your system will be snappy...
Lots of software out there to help OC a laptop , there are things I did to prepare for the OC . First I replace the CPU paste , they tend tp trowel it on at the factory , temps dropped 10- 15 c after paste replacement , undervolt , dropped another 5c , then I started to OC . It make a noticeable difference , a few minutes faster/hour rendering video , faster running CAD . Of course it also depends on the cpu , I went from 2.8 to 3.3-3.5 , not all cpu will OC .
