I would like suggestions as to a new desktop build for a budget of around $800.
I will need the following.
MOBO
RAM
CPU
DVD-R
Case
Power Supply
Graphics Card
Hard Drive
Windows 7
(Basically a system build less keyboard, mouse, monitor etc.)
My primary use for the desktop at this point is encoding my DVD library with productivity secondary and gaming tertiary.
I am reasonably tech savvy but only generally do a build once every 5-6 years so I lose track of the whats what so to speak. I would prefer the machine to be reasonably future proof. Don't care if it runs Crysis 7 in full res in 6 years but want it to be a capable machine as it ages.
So what does the hive mind think. I am generally an Intel guy as I have had stability issues with AMD builds in the past. I also tend to like ASUS boards but am open to suggestions.
