First, what IS the motherboard you are talking about? We need the motherboard model (or name) to even have an idea as to what motherboard you are referring to.

So here's one way to tell, if you see ports like these below, chance are you have a SATA port.

But it's always better to make sure by looking for the manual of the board at the manufacturer's site.

What kind of motherboard?

You can tell tell by looking for SATA connectors on the motherboard. If it has SATA connectors, you can use a DVD drive that has a SATA connector with it.

it is asus A7V266-E/AA ACPI 900 amd athlon processer

No mate, that's a pretty old board. And according to the manual - it only has IDE's (uses PATA hard drives) no SATA ports.
