Can I use an AMD Phenom II 965 BE or 1090T in this application?

Long time viewer, first time poster with a question. I just picked up a brand new Alienware 101b PC for only $450. The PC has the AMD Phenom II X4 9550 installed and from what I have been reading this is a socket AM2+. I'm considering upgrading, but before I purchase I would like to know if I would be able to plug in either the AMD Phenom II x4 965 Black Edition, or the AMD Phenom II x6 1090T processor in this board. From what I've seen, the AM3 sockets (which these both are) are compatible with the AM2+ socket which this system has.

Thank in advance!

Wouldn't recommend that. Performance benefit is very minor, especially given the near $300 price tag. I can't think of any game that doesn't run well on crossfired 4850's, so why upgrade? But of course, it's up to you!
