hello i never overclocked before i just used the OC genie on my mobo. ( i know its bad) thats why i want someone to PLEASE help me overclock my cpu manually to 3.9 mhz.

intel core i7 2600 (non k)

please i need a guide or some instructions. thank you.

I wouldn't recommend 3.9 but 3.8 simply because you are limited to only raising the multi by 4. And that is all you have to do to oc, go into your bios raise the multi to 38, save and exit. The auto voltage should be fine but you should check that when running prime95 to check stability. If you wanted to get to 3.9 you would have to change your blck which is not recommended.

Also, bumping is illegal and will get your thread locked.

i just did what you told me and now its overclocked to 3791.58 mhz thank you friend. one more question should i turn OFF the intel turbo boots or live it ON?

1.2 is ok, but the proper way is to find the lowest you can run at. Your cpu will automatically turn off when temps go too high but don't go much higher than 75C. Intel says the max safe is 1.52 but you probably don't want to go above 1.35-1.4.

ive been checking the temps for the last 2 days and they seem to be good. in idle is about 30c
and on 100% one core keeps going up close to 70c(the rest stays around 65c) i stop the test before it gets there. i dont have the stock cooler i got a small aftermarket cooler with one fan... thats probably why, right?

note : when im doing normal activity in my computer such as gaming and browsing the internet the temps dont go more then 50c thats good right?

Hey!
I was going to do the same like as k1114 told.
But in the BIOS of my asus p8p67 le, was a selection of power saver/perfomance/stable in the "home screen" of BIOS. I turned it to perfomance and now cpu-z (+speccy) tell me that processors of my i7-2600 non K are running at 4.2ghz. How is this possible? The multiplier turned to 42? It should be max 38? i'm sure that my processor is the non k edition.
Temperature went a bit up, but not much. It's 40-55 Celsius.
This works fine, no problems.. In games my fps is much higher. Like in LoL it was usually 111fps @1920x1080, now it is 142fps.
