I'm upgrading from a 9800GTX to a HD4890. I normally play on a resolution of 1440x900. My CPU is Q9300 at default settings. PSU is 650w earthwatts. I play mostly FPS games such as COD4, Crysis, etc. My question is if the HD4890 would be the best fit with my CPU (don't want a bottleneck), and if so/not, do you have any other reccomendations without spending like 200 bucks.

i dont think that would be a worthwhile upgrade, i would wait on the 5830 and if you can overclock i would suggest that you overclock your cpu a little bit, it might be bottlenecking a little bit at that resolution. especially if your gonna get a better graphics card :)

If you want more FPS's regardless of $/FPS, get the card. As simple as that.

But I agree with Derbixrace, you can wait a little longer for a 5830 or get a 5770/5850 now. Seems like a better buy IMO, upgrade plus features wise.

Cheers!
