I am building a budget pc and don't want to go over 700$ because i also need OS, Monitor, Keyboard and mouse. I am basically looking to get the best performance in gaming for the cheapest price, I would even appreciate going a little lower price if at all possible.

*Thanks in advance for your responses, I am new to building a pc & appreciate any feedback*

with monitor and os that doesnt leave much room left over in your budget for a decent gaming pc- increase your budget or get this and buy an after market gpu, it should de decent for gaming if you upgrade the gpu and i know its vista but vista is not bad on good hardware like this

I'm sorry I guess I wasn't clear, the monitor, keyboard, and OS are left out of the 700$ but they are the reason that my budget is 700$.

A C@Q rig is dumb at this point especially a fairly slow one with no upgrade path so stick with AMD .

Suggested mods to the first build :
Swap out the processor for a Phenom X2 555. Same price , better stepping , higher clock speed and almost all will unlock to be phenom quadcores.

To unlock you need a mb with a 790/750 chipsets or 770/710 chipsets .

The 785 mb you have picked has better onbaord gfx but thats not an issue so buy the Gigabyte GA770-UD3P to go with and unlock the Phenom X2

The samsung F3 500 gig or Seagate 7200.12 are way faster than the WD

the IDE DVD drive should be swapped for a SATA drive
