Hi all

I recently began building a pc and finished it now with the following parts

Asrock 970 extreme 3 motherboard
AMD anthlon ii x4 640 3.0ghz CPU - Standard heatsink and fan that comes with it
16gb DDR3 ram
64gb SSD
1tb HDD
Radeon HD 7770 shappire ghz edition GPU
700w Powercool GT series 80 plus PSU

I benchmarked it using 3dmark and got a score of 11138 but was told i can get better scores and gaming experience by tweaking the CPU and GPU but i dont know how to do this could some one kindly explain step by step how to do this??

Many thanks

(and yes think i need a new CPU) thinking about a bulldozer but need to get money first spend up on this one :-(

Athlon's are useless overclocker's, you could try, but rather get a new CPU... and to overclock your GPU you can download MSI afterburner.

You would be able to get to 3.6-3.8GHz with a decent cooler but with the stock one you are only likelty to get an extra 200MHz ish and you need to read some guides and ask more specific questions that how do I overclock?
