Windows security alert(WSA) says my virus protection OFF, and when I click on the menu arrows to change OFF to ON, there are no options, because no virus protection is detected. BUT Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) is On, my PC is protected and the virus and spyware are up to date. Why does WSA read OFF when in fact, virus protection (MSE) is ON?? Note: I also have Malwarebytes Pro running in real time.
Thanks in advance for any insight on this matter.

Run sfc /scannow to check for system file errors (from command prompt)
