i have a brand new laptop from Sony
i'm not satisfied with its performance

Component: Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Component: 320GB Hard Disk Drive (5400rpm)
Component: Standard capacity battery
Component: Intel® Core™ i5-460M processor (2.53GHz) with Turbo Boost up to 2.80GHz
Component: ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5470 GPU (512MB VRAM)
2GB (2GBx1) DDR3-SDRAM-1066

how can i upgrade it?

i'm thinking of upgrading the memory by adding 2GB or 4GB to my 2GB to become 4GB or 6GB

what do you recommend 4GB or 6 GB to my computer?

Laptops usually includes the max amount of RAMs it can be upgraded with. For starters, what's the model number of your notebook? For typical use, 4GB of total RAM would be sufficient. Although more won't hurt. :p

The point is, what's your definition of poor performance? If you compare it to similar spec'd desktop PC, of course the performance is not as high. The power requirement itself is greatly different, which is why you can't expect to have the same performance from similarly technical spec'd desktop PC.

If you're certain that it's because of insufficient RAM, then your plan of upgrading it is appropriate. ;)
