My desktop icons are missing i cant launch my task manager

please help me! can't launch task manager. everything and everything in my desktop is gone. what should i do?..

No, seriously, give us some more information to work with. System specs? Operating System? What did you do prior to everything disappearing? Have you tried accessing Task Manager by using Crtl-Alt-Del?

try rebooting and hitting F8 before the windows screen pops up, then select safe mode. if that works try selecting last configuration that worked.
