The build will work fine for your intended use. The only suggestion I have is to maybe consider a slightly faster triple-core CPU. Here's a nice combo deal from www.newegg.ca

ive seen a few videos of the 5770 playing CODMW2 and in some it seemed laggy? i know there alot of variables but generally speaking this card should hack threw that game no problem right?

everything i play will be at 1680x1050

I wouldn't get a 4870. It's only SLIGHTLY faster than the 5770 in a few benchmarks. The 5770 also uses less energy, runs cooler, is quieter, and has DX 11 support. No, DX 11 isn't "pretty far off". There are games out right now that use it.
