Warranty on Cards

My Gigabyte nVidia 8500GT gave the ghost a week ago, after about 18 months (15 August 2008 - 11 February 2010) of full service -( In other words, its still under warranty if it's true that Gigabyte offers 3 Year warranties on all their products).

After searching my house through thoroughly, I failed to find the purchase receipt of the card.

After studying the broken card for a while, I found a 14-digit serial on the back of the card, starting SN08xxxxxxxxxx.

Can the serial by any chance help me replace/trade in the card, since this card is still under the warranty period?

for warranty with ANY product you need a "Proof of purchase"

this basically always the receipt.
