Free Antivirus for 32 Bit XP System

Hi
I was using Avast Free Antivirus for 2 years & then installed Avira till date.
Avira came up with thier 2013 free edition which they prompted to install, which I did unfortunately it came with with daignosis that some software is not compatible with intallation & highlighted Malware Anti Malware as well as some strain of Avast deleted nearly two years back.
I uninstalled Malware & tried to delete remaining strains of avast but its really stubborn software that refuses to die
Now I am without an Antivirus on my system as Avira as well as Avast will not install on my system.
Pl suggest an alternative Good AV .
How do you rate Kingsoft AV & Zone Alarm AV with Firewall ??
PL HELP ASAP

i DON'T WANNA FORMAT MY SYSTEM.

More about free antivirus system
  1. I use the free version of AVG on some of my systems.
  2. Is AVG Good? I had that previously ,it had a very poor detection rate.
is the current edition comparable with avast & avira
I personally like avira its very light on my system
  3. I had tried AVG for a while too , but I like Eset Nod 32 better, and it does't slow down things. It works ok on slower systems.
I'm using it curently on 2 of my PC's.

    :hello:
  4. I have begun to use Avast on slower systems. . .
  5. In my view, you should try a light and fast antivirus which takes limited hard disk space so that the speed of her PC won’t get affected. I think Immunet Plus will be best option because it requires only 10mb of Hard disk space, if you are aware of any other AV program which take less than 10mb space then go for it.

  7. I love microsoft security essentials. It's free, works good and doesn't use a lot of resources like other anti-viruses programs.

I also found these articles to keep your computer safe: http://lifehacker.com/5720731/resolved-keep-your-computer-safe-clean-and-backed-up-in-2011 and http://www.thehonestreviews.com/blog/tips-to-keeping-your-computer-safe-from-viruses/
