Windows display settings changes itself

I set the display resolution. When I start computer again is back to what it was before, How do I fix thaT? tHANKS!

Are you connected by a VGA, DVI, or HDMI cable?
Are you setting the resolution to the native resolution of the monitor? If not, why?
