2 differentinternet connections, one computer?

I have noticed several open networks in my area, and was wondering. If I were to install another wireless card in my system, and hook up to one of the open networks, as well as my own. Would it make my internet faster?

No, Browser will only use one connection at a time.

i know back in the day you could stack 56k modems but you had to dial into a different # on each one and you also had to do some tweaking to get it to work as one connection..

i have not done any research beyond those days because dsl and cable modems came about and didnt need to do it anymore.
