Reformating

Computer works fine, but slow. Have windows7. Want to reformat & install clean windows. Put dvd in, restart, choose cd from boot menu. Comes up saying press any key to boot from cd. I do so, but it seems to disregard it & continues to startup as normal. What might be happening?

First, make sure you have a DVD drive and not just a CD one. Make sure the disk is clean, try it in another computer. You can also try to clean the DVD pickup lens with a cotton swab. If that does not work, try a different DVD drive.

As far as the PC being slow, what are your system specs. Could be slow because the PC is, and nothing to do with Windows.
