Do I need a VGA driver with a GPU driver?
Dec 30, 2012, 2:38 AM
So I am looking at ASRock's website for my motherboard drivers. One driver is a VGA driver, and I am wondering, is that the same thing as a GPU driver? Or is it something totally different?

Same thing my friend, they are equivalent, just two names for the same thing. VGA: Video Graphics Adapter (or Array) GPU: Graphics Processing unit

I wouldn't say generic but they are both graphics drivers. I'm not sure why you would need a VGA driver for your motherboard though, unless of course you don't have a graphics card and don't have integrated graphics on your processor.
